ERIC HUTTING  |  ASSISTANT COACH

Eric Hutting enters his first season as the pitching coach of the Ranger baseball program in 2017-18.

Hutting spent the past two seasons coaching at the Junior College ranks in the Orange Empire Conference in Southern California. In 2017, Hutting coached at Cypress College where he served as the first base and assistant hitting coach. In 2018, Hutting took over the pitching coach duties at Golden West College.

Hutting has also served as the pitching coach for the Anchorage Bucs in the prestigious Alaska Baseball League the past two summers.

Hutting is a native of Rancho Santa Margarita, California and attended Tesoro High School where he lettered in baseball for four years. He then spent his college career at Long Beach State where he earned his bachelor’s degree in communication studies in 2016. He also earned his master’s degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific University in 2017.

During his time at Long Beach State, Hutting started 140 games behind the plate for the Dirtbags. He threw out a career 39% of would be base stealers and assisted the Dirtbags to two Regional finals appearances in 2014 and 2016.
